and so as i stood there, on the edge of the rain, just beyond the reach of the solemn clouds, i stared into the army of water droplets invading mother earth. i saw an eon-old friend.
a gust of wind pushed from behind him and we were locked in an embrace. standing in the cross-fire, i glanced heavenwards, beneath the clouds where its burdens were released.
each bead that struck me seemingly seeped through the brown membrane, burying itself deep underneath, distilling my very core; to the essence. i was clear. therefore i heard.
it was the Lord.
