once upon a time
there was a basket of apples
then one day,
one of the apples went bad
so it was thrown away

the rotting however,
had affected the others
so the apples began to all decay
but a hand came over the basket
and cleansed the apples
with salt water
and the apples were fine again

now the apples are all happy
and are deciding whether
or not to fill the vacancy
left by the bad apple

however,
there is a red apple
there is a green apple
each special in their own way
each worthy of that place
that one place

then the hand,
which cleansed the apples,
declared that the vacancy be left
and not to be occupied
the basket of apples,
are all at a loss
to fill or not to fill
if to fill,
red or green?
